Algebra 2 with Trigonometry Honors

Algebra 2 with Trigonometry Honors is built around functions. The first unit starts with the parent function families and the features of their graphs. It then moves those graphs by shifting, reflecting, and stretching them, builds piecewise and absolute value functions, tests for even and odd symmetry, and combines functions through arithmetic and composition. The rest of the first semester will cover inverses with exponential and logarithmic functions, quadratic functions and complex numbers, polynomial functions, rational expressions and equations, and radicals with rational exponents. The second semester will take up linear systems and matrices, conic sections, sequences and series, and probability and statistics, then close with two trigonometry units: angles, the unit circle, and the laws of sines and cosines first, then trigonometric graphs, identities, and equations. Each semester will end with a final exam.

Most answers are written in math notation: a domain in interval notation, a piecewise rule entered one piece at a time, a composite function typed as an expression, or the solution of an absolute value inequality marked on a number line. Some problems hand you blank axes and ask you to sketch the graph yourself. Each skill's practice deals fresh questions at random from shared banks and keeps going until you get four right in a row, and each unit test is drawn from those same question pools.
