Digital Art

In development

A studio course in digital drawing and color, from construction and perspective to light, shadow, and finished color in Clip Studio Paint.

5 units · 34 lessons · 34 practice items · 136 videos

Digital Art follows the path from a first drawing to finished color. It opens with drawing fundamentals (line quality and line weight, simple shapes, gesture, construction from basic forms, and perspective), then turns to light: value grouping, edges, the shadow family, cast shadows, highlights, and how different surfaces take light. The video lessons come from public series by Proko, Sycra, Marco Bucci, and the comic colorist Kurt Michael Russell.

The later units move into Clip Studio Paint, where students prepare line art, make selections, flat colors, and keep an organized layer stack, then use color for story and carry a piece through its rendering pass. Every lesson sets a studio exercise that students hand in to their teacher as a layered file, and closes with a short check on an idea from its videos.
